Using my prep for an Ironman to increase awareness on Human Trafficking

My Story:

My name is Steve Jury and this is why I'm an Abolitionist:

The Holy Spirit "nudged' me on the plight of Human Trafficking in a message by Christine Caine several years ago and that nudge has turned into a passion to make a difference! I've been to Africa twice, with the latest encompassing a successful summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro to raise funds for clean water and sanitation facilities. I've been in the fitness industry for over 30 years, which "pays the bills". But my true passion and purpose in life is to use my talents and abilities to change the world for those in need.

Galatians 5:22-23:

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.

Love is what compels me to do this!

Hearing the stories of survivors and the horrendous life they're forced into and seeing the efforts of Tim Ballard and his team in the documentary "The Abolitionists" my spirit was awakened to stand up, stand out and make an impact!

Human Trafficking happens right next door, not just in other countries. Every 30 seconds someone is trafficked, that alone should awaken and even frighten people to know just how huge the issue is.

By contributing to the #Racing2FreeTheSlaves campaign and joining me in this fight, you will not only save lives but restore them and give them hope for a future.

As a platform to raise awareness, I'm competing in a half Ironman Triathlon in June and a Full Ironman Triathlon in August. My bike and gear will have the O.U.R. logos as well to increase exposure.

The #2 in the name Racing2FreeTheSlaves serves as a reminder of  the estimated 2 million children worldwide who are victims of Human Trafficking.

The following survivor story is just one of many:

Born into a poor community in Thailand to a family desperate to get by, at 3 years old "Eve" was sold to pay for rent and food. She saw things no child should see, and did things that no one should have to do. Her life was not her own. But today at 7 years old she is Free. How? Because with every step we take and every dollar raised, we are getting closer to ending slavery!
